Our first fall sports scrimmages begin today and I wanted to send out a quick but important update. If you have been near our stadium this week you have noticed it is a construction zone.
The Department of Public Works have begun a $400,000 track replacement project as of Monday August 15th. As approved by our County Commissioners this project is being fast-tracked to provide us with a state of the art track while hopefully limiting the impact of a stadium closure to our fall sports teams.
With that being said there will be adjustments to our home game/scrimmage schedules as we navigate through the construction period. We are working closely with the QAC Parks and Recreation and our coaches to make the necessary adjustments. We will continue to communicate with our athletes, families, and the community and know that Kent Island High School Fall Athletics will continue to operate as close to “normal” as possible.
