Just a quick reminder that the new school-based health centers are now operating and serve all QA public school employees and students. They are currently offering flu/covid/RSV testing and same-day appointments for the ill are always available. In addition, free sports physicals are offered at the clinics. As long as a parent/guardian calls the clinic and gives permission to see the child, they do not need to be present for a visit. However, the student must bring a completed sports physical form with them to the clinic. Clinic hours, locations, and phone numbers are listed below, as well as a link to an information flier in both English and Spanish.

    PSAT Scores

10th grade students who participated in the PSAT/NMSQT in October will be receiving their scores during the week of December 5th through their college board account. PSAT/NMSQT scores can be used to provide personalized practice for the SAT at satpractice.org. Additional information regarding your child’s PSAT/NMSQT scores can be found here. Free online SAT tutorials can be found by accessing the student’s Naviance account under Naviance Test Prep. Questions regarding score results may be directed to Mr. Willis.

    Internship Meeting

Seniors who have Internships scheduled for their 2nd semester were recently sent an email inviting them to attend an internship on December 7th at 1:00pm. Students considering Internship must have paperwork in place prior to the start of 2nd semester. Contact your counselor to sign and attend this meeting. There will be businesses who are accepting internships present at this meeting.

    2nd Semester Schedules

All students should take a few minutes to review their 2nd semester classes and make any necessary changes prior to Christmas break. This will help ensure you are scheduled for classes that you have. After the holiday break there are only 2.5 weeks until final exams. Don’t wait until the last minute.

    January Testing/Final Exams

Please take a moment to open and review the January testing schedule as it contains important information regarding specific testing dates and graduation requirements. Additionally, please be aware 1st Semester final exams are scheduled for January 19-20, with make-ups available on January 21. Final exams are county approved and to be given at school on specific dates. Test security is very important; because of this, it is not possible to take the exams early. We will provide more information on finals in our next eNewsletter. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our academic dean, Billie Brice, at billie.brice@qacps.org
