Mrs. Laura Harding

7th Grade Math Teacher

I am one of the two 7th Grade Math Teachers at Stevensville and have been a teacher for 26 years.  I taught in Anne Arundel County for nine years, first at Georgetown East Elementary in Annapolis as a PreK to 5 special education teacher for one year.  Then, I taught 4th grade at Shady Side Elementary School for three years.  Next, I moved on to Central Middle School in Edgewater for five years.   While teaching in Anne Arundle County, I also was the head field hockey and assistant lacrosse coach at South River High School.

I switched counties in the fall of 2005, and I have been teaching math here at Stevensville Middle School ever since.  I taught 6th and 7th grade and pre-algebra before becoming the math specialist in 2009.  While I was  the math specialist, I mostly worked with 7th and 8th graders, and I taught math intervention classes as well.  Last year I taught Special Education in 6th grade, and this year I am very excited to be back in 7th Grade as a Math Teacher.  In addition, I am the Head Field Hockey and Assistant Lacrosse Coach at Kent Island High School.

I am married and have four children:  one son, one daughter, and two step-daughters.  All four of them attend Kent Island High School and play sports.  My husband is the Athletic Director and Assistant Principal at Kent Island High School.  Our family resides in Grasonville, where I have lived since 2000.  I love our community; I think we live in a beautiful place!!
