Bio

Sarah Delost is delighted to start serving the Queen Anne's County Public Schools’ students and their families as Gateway to Technology Teacher at Centreville Middle School. Mrs. Delost enters her first year at CMS, she is excited to engage, inspire and motivate her students to do their very best in the classroom.

In 2012, Mrs. Delost began working for a small private school in Anne Arundel County. She began her career as a co-teacher for Pre-Kindergarten. She advanced and was the Community Based lead Pre-Kindergarten teacher for six years. She has taught up to thirty-four students in a classroom at one time. She has also managed five assistant teachers who served under her. Mrs. Delost wore many hats at the small independent school that she worked at. When the director was out for the day, Mrs. Delost would step in as director for the day and assist teachers, students, and parents with any issues that arose.

This past summer Mrs. Delost worked at Horizons of Queen Anne’s and Kent County. She was the teacher for Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten and First grade. At first Mrs. Delost was hesitant about teaching all three grade levels but in order to meet each child's individual needs she persevered. Mrs. Delost is so happy that she was able to teach these students over the summer and learn a lot from her students. Even with all of the restrictions, it was her favorite summer by far teaching students.

Mrs. Delost grew up in Pasadena, Maryland, and received her Bachelors of Arts from Stevenson University in Early Childhood Education. Mrs. Delost is completing her Master's Degree in Instructional Technology from the University of Maryland Global Campus and is anticipating graduating in November of 2021. Mrs. Delost has used her course work to determine where technology would be necessary for the Pre-Kindergarten classroom.

Mrs. Delost is thrilled to serve our students and provide them with a plethora of information that will be helpful in order for students to be successful in the real world. She looks forward to building relationships with the students and the staff at Centreville Middle School.  She understands that it takes hard work and determination in order to be a successful student and educator.

On a personal note, Mrs. Delost is a proud loving mother to her daughter Avery. Avery is 18 months old and has so much energy. Mrs. Delost looks forward to a wonderful year as the new Gateway to Technology teacher.
