Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Ortiz

Welcome to the 2022 - 2023 school year.  I will be teaching Fundamentals of Art and 3-D Studio Art.

This will be my third year teaching at QACHS.  I previously taught at Centreville Middle School, making it my tenth year teaching in Queen Anne's County.  Before my move to the Eastern Shore, I taught Art in Anne Arundel County at both the elementary and high school level, as well as Asian Art History at the University of Maryland, College Park.

I am a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park (UMCP) where I received a B.A. and M.A. in Art History and Archaeology with an emphasis in Fine Art, and an Art Education Certification.  In addition to studying at UMCP, I have taken art classes at Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore (MICA), Los Angeles Pierce College in California, and studied with an artist in Villeneue, France.  I have also worked at The Baltimore Museum of Art, The Phillips Collection, and The National Museum of Women in the Arts.
